Overview
If your cell phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), U.S. passport, vehicle key set, or U.S. currency is stolen* from you, we will reimburse your actual amount of loss up to $50 per covered item.

This summary is a brief overview of the Stolen Event Coverage. The Stolen Event Coverage benefit is underwritten by Virginia Surety Company, Inc. under group insurance policy form number VSC-GMP (4-06). Exclusions and limitations apply. An Evidence of Coverage will be sent to you when you enroll in the membership plan. Please refer to the Evidence of Coverage for complete details of the terms, conditions and exclusions. The Stolen Event Coverage benefit is not available to residents of the state of Texas.
Description
Key terms:
- You, Your or Member means the individual named in the membership under which this coverage is provided.
- Covered Item means the following items owned by You at the time of Loss: one cell phone, one personal digital assistant (PDA is defined as a handheld computer designed for use as a personal organizer with or without communication capabilities for example: Palm Pilot, Palm phone, pocket PC, or Blackberry.), one U.S. passport, one vehicle key set, or U.S. currency.
- Loss means a single event in which Covered Items are taken by force and/or under duress or the disappearance of the item from a known place under circumstances that would indicate the probability of theft.
- Administrator means cynoSure Financial, Inc.
- We, Us, and Our means A- rated AM Best carrier
Coverage period:
- This coverage begins concurrently with the term of your membership commencing on your membership’s effective date, and continues monthly until your membership expires or is non-renewed or cancelled by you or us.
To get coverage:
- Your membership must be active and in good standing on the date you call the Administrator to report a Loss for a claim to be eligible for coverage.
The kind of coverage You receive:
- We will reimburse your actual amount of Loss of Your Covered Items up to $50 USD per Covered Item.
Where You are covered:
- Coverage is available worldwide.
Coverage limitations:
- Coverage is limited to $50 USD for each Covered Item, up to a maximum of $250 USD per Loss.
- Coverage is limited to one (1) Loss per membership per twelve (12) month period.
- Coverage under this benefit is excess of any valid and collectible warranty, insurance, or indemnity benefit available to you.
What is NOT covered:
- Accessories used in conjunction with the Covered Item;
- Covered Items that are lost;
- Covered Items that mysteriously disappear (the only proof of loss is unexplained or there is no physical evidence to show what happened to the Covered Item) without any evidence of a wrongful act;
- Covered Items that are stolen from any location or place (including, but not limited to, exercise facilities, places of employment, schools, or places of worship) due to the lack of Due Diligence by You or another party. “Due Diligence” means the performance of all vigilant activity, attentiveness, and care that would be taken by a reasonable and prudent person in the same or similar circumstances in order to guard and protect the Covered Item;
- Covered Items lost, stolen, or mis-delivered while under the care, custody, and control of another party or common carrier (including, but not limited to, airlines, the U.S. Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, or other delivery services);
- Losses resulting from any dishonest, fraudulent, or criminal act committed or arranged by You;
- Losses that cannot be verified or substantiated;
- Losses without documented report from the police;
- Losses resulting from war or hostilities of any kind (including, but not limited to, invasion, terrorism, rebellion, insurrection, riot, or civil commotion); confiscation or damage by any government, public authority, or customs official; risks of contraband; illegal activity or acts;
- Direct or indirect loss resulting from any Acts of God (including, but not limited to, flood, hurricane, lightning, and earthquake);
- Any shipping charges or transportation charges incurred when the Covered Item was originally purchased.
General Provisions:
- This insurance benefit is provided under a Group Master Policy. This Evidence of Coverage is intended as a summary of benefits provided to You. All information about the benefits listed in this Evidence of Coverage is governed by the conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the Group Master Policy.
- Cancellation: Policyholder can cancel this benefit at any time or choose not to renew the insurance coverage for all Members. If the Policyholder does cancel this benefit, You will be notified at least sixty (60) days in advance. If the insurance company terminates, cancels, or chooses not to renew the coverage to the Policyholder, You will be notified as soon as is practicable. This insurance benefit will still apply for any benefits You were eligible for prior to the date of such terminations, cancellation, or non-renewal, subject to the terms and conditions of coverage.
- Deductible: Coverage under this Evidence of Coverage is not subject to a deductible per claim.
- Transfers: Your rights and duties under this Evidence of Coverage are not transferable.
- Who is Covered: Members whose primary residence is located within the fifty (50) United States of America.
- Coverage under this benefit is excess of any valid and collectible warranty, insurance, or indemnity benefit available to You.
- Misrepresentation and Fraud: This insurance benefit shall be void if the Member has concealed or misrepresented any material facts concerning this coverage.
- Subrogation: If payment is made under this coverage, We are entitled to recover such amounts from other parties or persons. Any party or person to or for whom We make payment must transfer to us his or her rights to recovery against any other party or person and must do everything necessary to secure these rights and must do nothing that would jeopardize them, or these rights will be recovered from that person.

How To File a Claim
How to file a claim:
- Call the Administrator within thirty (30) days to report the Loss and receive a claim form. Failure to report the Loss within thirty (30) days may result in denial of Your claim.
- You will be sent a claim form which must be completed, signed and returned to: the administrator with all the required documentation within sixty (60) days from date of Loss.
You must include:
- Completed and signed claim form.
- Report from police listing Covered Items stolen.
- Proof of ownership of each Covered Item (examples include copy of stolen passport form DSP-64 filed with U.S. Department of State, monthly cell phone service statement, copy of vehicle registration, recent ATM cash withdrawal statements, etc.).
- Copy of the declarations page of any applicable insurance (including, but not limited to, homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy).
- Any other documentation that may be reasonably requested to validate a claim.
